Our Leaf Out program is a “next step” program for students, ages 14-18, who have completed at least one year of our Youth Gardening Program. In Leaf Out, students fine-tune the job and life skills learned in the Youth Gardening Program by growing food to sell to local restaurants and at farmers markets, as well as donate to low-income neighbors. They also provide three or more hours of service to the community every week, tending local community gardens. Leaf Out is an intensive summer program, running June-August, meeting Mon-Thur from 9 am-noon (plus an occasional farmers market), with some “shoulder season” after-school days in May, Aug, & Sept. Participants receive a monetary Achievement Award based on their participation and development. There is a $100 program fee.
We are no longer accepting applications for 2020 Programs.
